Sensei Steve began Shorinji Kempo in 1985, he has competed in many embu competitions in the UK and abroad being the UK champion on two occasions in the early 90's and also placing forth and fifth at international (World Taikai) competition in Japan.

He became Harrow Branch Master in 1999, and takes his kenshi abroad regularly, especially to Japan (where he has good friends at Rakuto Doin, Kyoto) and Sweden (where he has close ties with Sensei AndersPettersson, Karlstad branch).

Sensei Steve has trained at Hombu in Japan on nine different occasions, and currently holds the rank of 5th Dan which he attained at Hombu Japan in 2010.

In his spare time, Sensei Steve enjoys playing Ice Hockey with his local team the Slough Tornados, and also teaches special needs children both ice skating and ice hockey every week on a voluntary basis.
