12. Establishment of "Japan Shorinji Kempo Federation, Incorporated"

If we look back at the process leading up to the incorporation of the Federation, we see that in 1948 the Japan Northern Shorinji Society was formed, and in 1957 the All Japan Shorinji Federation was made to spread Shorinji Kempo. In 1963, the next stage was achieved with the incorporation of the Shorinji Kempo Federation, and then in 1992, the baton was passed to the Shorinji Kempo Federation Foundation.

The Japan Shorinji Kempo Federation was incorporated in order to develop Shorinji Kempo, so that it would not be conducted solely as a religious activity. Thus it was established as a public interest entity based on civil law, separate from the religious body of Sohonzan Shorinji, and so the Federation began to show new expansion in its public and social aspects.
